How can I see what my Bookings Page looks like as a patient?
To view your Online Bookings page, log into your HotDoc Dashboard and select 'View my Bookings page' in the top right of your screen. Here you can see the browser version of your Bookings page, as patients see it. Alternatively, you can download the HotDoc app on your mobile device and search for your practice.

How do I add or edit an appointment type?
You can add new or edit existing appointment types in your Dashboard by going to Bookings > Appointment Types. For more information, please see How to add, edit or remove an appointment type.
Can I add a message to appear when a patient selects an appointment type?
Yes. You can add an alert message or terms and conditions to your appointment types that will appear when a patient selects this. Please see How do I add a message to appear when a patient selects an appointment type? for how to do this.
Can I change the order that practitioners appear in, on the Bookings Page?
Yes. You can change the order that your practitioner appear in, whether that be by alphabetical order, next available practitioner or a completely customised order.

Can I manually process cancellations in the Sidebar, so I can prioritise patients on a waiting list?
Yes. To configure your cancellations, follow the steps in this article: How can I set up automatic or manual processing of bookings and cancellations? To prioritise patients on a waiting list, you will need to deselect 'Automatically accept cancellations' in your Bookings Settings. From here, cancellations will appear in your Sidebar, maintaining the placeholder in the appointment slot until you mark it as completed, allowing you time to book in a patient from your waiting list.
Can we prevent/block certain patients from booking an appointment online?
You can prevent certain patients from booking an appointment at your practice by adding a patient alert in the Bookings > PatientAlerts section of your Dashboard. By doing this, we will send this patients booking request to your Sidebar so that you can confirm or deny this. How do I set up a practitioner for Telehealth appointments on specific times or days only?
You can do this in your Dashboard under Bookings > Practitioner Setup. Please follow the steps in this article How to set up a practitioner for Telehealth appointments on specific times or days?
Can we make patients complete the New Patient Form before their appointment?
Yes. If you have enabled our Forms product, we can automatically send New Patient Forms to patients after they book the appointment at your practice. To set this up, please see Getting Started with HotDoc Forms.
Can we collect Medicare details from patients when they book online?
When patients book online, they are not asked to provide their Medicare details. However, if you are using our Forms product, you can include this question in your form and make it mandatory. Once they submit this form, we can automatically write back Medicare number, expiry date and ref into the patient file.
