How do I link a practitioner? And how do I unlink it if I've made a mistake?
In order to display available appointments online for your practitioners, it is necessary that a link is established between each HotDoc practitioner and their profile in your practice management system.
Follow the steps below to link or unlink your HotDoc practitioner:
- Log in to your Dashboard
- Navigate to Bookings > Practitioner setup > click Edit on the practitioner profile you wish to link:

- Under the field Link to [your clinical software] select the corresponding practitioner from the drop down menu:
Please note: for a practitioner to appear in the drop down menu, they must have sessions set up in your Practice Management System, and at least one future-dated appointment in their schedule. Please see this support page for more information on practitioner session setup.
- If you've made a mistake and wish to remove this link, Click on the X next to the linked practitioner:
- Make a new link selection, or keep the profile unlinked. Press the green Save button to save your changes:
