Question
Why are Recalls that have been resolved or given still showing in the Dashboard?
Solution
Best Practice
Sometimes you may find that there are Recalls in your Dashboard that haven't been resolved, even after you've marked them as given in your clinical software. Read the information below to check if this is expected behaviour:
-
In the past, HotDoc could only pick on whether a clinical reminder in your software was completed or deleted for up to 30 days after the due date. This lead to cases where resolved reminders in your software were still showing as unresolved in the Dashboard.
- The above behaviour may still apply to some recalls with older due dates prior to 21-08-2023
- Going forward, clinical reminders should resolve in the Dashboard, regardless of how far after the due date they are actioned in your software.
How Do I Clear A Recall From The Dashboard?
If you are sure the patient has come in for their Recall, you can manually mark the Recall as done on the Dashboard. See below for examples of what the 'Mark as done' button looks like.
Recall Status: To Post
Recall Status: Unresolved

Sometimes you may find that there are Recalls in your Dashboard that haven't been resolved, even after you've marked them as given in your clinical software. Read the information below to check if this is expected behaviour:
- By default, HotDoc syncs Recalls 14 days before the due date and can continue to see any changes made to a Recall for 30 days after the due date. This period of time can be referred to as the 'sync window'.
- If a Recall is marked as given in your clinical software more than 30 days past the due date and therefore outside the 'sync window', HotDoc will not be able to sync this and the Recall will remain unresolved on the Dashboard.
