Exclusive sessions allow you to limit a session to only offer specific appointment types online, automatically excluding any other appointment types from being bookable during that time. These appointment types will still be available on other days however, unless you add a custom session for that appointment type during the exclusive session time.
This feature can solve for cases such as:

A practitioner has an ad-hoc change in their availability.

EG: The practitioner needs to work from home on a Tuesday morning, so they only want 'Telehealth' appointment types to be bookable on a Tuesday morning. However, Telehealth appointments will still be available for patients to book on all other working days.

The practitioner wants to exclude a certain time or day for a specific appointment type only.
- EG: On a Monday afternoon a practitioner wants to focus only on Care Plan appointment types, however they also offer this appointment types on every other working day.

Exclusive sessions are created, edited and deleted directly from the Availability Calendar, under the Bookings section of the dashboard.

How to create an Exclusive Session
Adding an exclusive session will allow you to choose which appointment types you want to offer on a specific timeframe, automatically excluding other appointment types.
Exclusive sessions override any existing or new Custom appointment type sessions. Any appointment types that are not included in a Exclusive Session will not be bookable online during the selected timeframe. |
Once exclusive sessions are created, they will be displayed:
- Under Bookings > Availability, in purple, as long as the check box in the bottom bar is ticked:
- In the practitioner's settings, by going to Bookings > Practitioner setup > Edit the practitioner > In the "Appointment types" section:
How to edit an existing Exclusive Session
Any changes made to a Exclusive Session are applied to all the days the session includes, not just the day in which the changes are being made. |
How to delete an existing Exclusive Session
When deleting a session, this will be removed from all the days it had been applied to, not just the day on which this action is being done on. |
