Question
There are some tandem appointments being entered into the book with a primary and supporting practitioner. How do I remove the supporting practitioner from these appointments?
Solution
You can remove a supporting practitioner from your appointments in the tandem appointment settings. These settings can be configured in two locations in the Dashboard:
- At the appointment type template level:
Bookings > Appointment Types > Edit next to appointments set up as Tandem - At the practitioner level:
Bookings > Practitioner Setup > Select your practitioner > Edit next to Tandem appointments types that practitioner is enabled for

How to remove tandem settings for ALL Practitioners for a specific appointment type
- Open the Dashboard and go to Bookings > Appointment Types and click Edit on the appointment type you wish to edit.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen to see the Tandem Appointments section. Click Remove Supporting Practitioner to remove the Tandem settings
- Click the green Save button
- You will then see the following pop-up box which allows you to remove this setting from ALL practitioners who are enabled for this appointment type. To do this, ensure you click on Yes, Update:
If you click "No, Skip" then the setting will still be active at the Practitioner level and when patients book that appointment type it will still book as a Tandem Booking. To remove the settings at the practitioner level follow the instructions below. |
How to remove tandem settings on an appointment type for specific practitioners
Note: This method will allow you to remove the settings for only your selected practitioner and will not affect the tandem settings for other practitioners.
- Open the Dashboard and go to Bookings > Practitioner Settings and click Edit on the Practitioner you wish to edit.
- Scroll down the page to view the appointment types that the practitioner has been enabled for and click Edit next to the appointment type you wish to remove the Tandem Settings for:
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen to see the Tandem Appointments section. Click Remove Supporting Practitioner to remove the Tandem settings.
- Click the green Save button:
When you remove the setting at the Practitioner level it will not remove the setting for any other practitioners. If you removed the setting at the Appointment type template level but did not update the Practitioners, and you wish to remove it for ALL practitioners, then you will need to repeat the above steps for each practitioner individually. |
