The Hide Sessions feature allows you to block parts of a practitioner's session from showing as available online.
You can use this to quickly take availability offline (e.g. if a doctor calls in sick) or to hide times that you may want to only be booked by the practice or by phone (e.g. walk ins or weekend slots).
This guide will show you how to hide a session from being visible to be booked online via the HotDoc Dashboard.

How to edit or delete a hidden session
You can edit or delete a hidden session from both the Bookings > Hide Sessions section of the Dashboard, or Bookings > Availability section of the Dashboard. See below to see how to do this:

You can edit or delete a session by clicking on the red block in the practitioners sessions:

To edit an existing hidden session, click on the red block and adjust the details accordingly, then press Save

To delete an existing hidden session, click on the red block and select Delete Session, then press Save. The red block will then be removed from the calendar.

How to hide a session in the Dashboard

Log in to the HotDoc Dashboard and go to Bookings > Hide Sessions.

Select the practitioner from the drop down list.
- The green blocks represent the practitioners active session setup in your appointment book. Click on a block to select a time or click and drag within the calendar to select a larger amount of time.

You can then adjust the duration, choose how frequently this will repeat (daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly), add an end date (or keep forever) and add a description for this hidden block. Once you have finalised the settings, press Save.
- Once saved, you will see the block appear in red on the calendar like below:

Once you have selected the practitioner, you can edit or delete a hidden session by clicking on the red block:
- To edit an existing hidden session click on the red block and adjust the details accordingly, then press Save

How to hide a session via the Calendar

Log in to the HotDoc Dashboard and go to Calendar.
- Navigate to the date of the session that you wish to hide:

Ensure that practitioner that you want to update is visible via the Settings tab:
- Click the grey 'X' next to the appointment slot that you wish to hide:

The hidden slot will then turn grey in the Calendar. If you wish to hide more than one slot, click on the hidden session:

You can then adjust the duration, choose how frequently this will repeat (daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly), add an end date (or keep forever) and add a description for this hidden block. Once you have finalised the settings, press Save.
How to hide a session via Bookings settings

Log into the HotDoc Dashboard and go to Bookings > Hide Sessions.
- Select the relevant doctor from the drop down list.
- The green blocks represent the practitioners active session setup in your appointment book. Click on a block to select a time or click and drag within the calendar to select a larger amount of time.

Once saved, the calendar on the Hide Sessions page will update to display in red the times that have been hidden:
