Why was a patient exempt from being sent an automatic payment request for their online or practice booked appointment?
Solution
For those using HotDoc Payments to send automatic payment requests for appointments, it is possible that certain patients will be exempt and therefore won't be requested to provide card details. Please follow the steps below to determine why a patient was exempt:
- Log in to your HotDoc Dashboard
- In the left-hand menu, click on Bookings > Booking History and select between 'Online Booked' or 'All Appointments'
- Use the filters to locate an appointment in the list
- If the status in the Payment Status column states Card Details Exempt, this means the patient is exempt from storing a card because they meet your bulk billing criteria. You will also be able to see the reason why the were exempt (which can be either Patient age or Concession card):
