How to use 'Areas of Interest' effectively
Areas of Interest on the Practitioner Profile can be accessed under Bookings > Practitioner Setup for each practitioner, and represent symptoms, conditions, and areas where the practitioner has a special interest or knowledge in diagnosing, treating or managing. This is separate from a practitioners specialty or qualification but may be related.
Some guidelines for how you should use this areas are:
- Symptoms, conditions, and treatment methods
- Short or full names of illnesses and conditions
- Specific or broad categories (e.g., 'period pain', 'women’s health', 'general practice')
In this example, Dr Alex Alexis has included 'General Practice' as their areas of interest.
What is the purpose of adding 'Areas of interest' to a Practitioner Profile?
Currently, this information will appear under the Practitioner Profile under the practitioner statement on your booking page, and allows patients to understand if a practitioner has experience or an interest in treating their condition.
In the future, we will enhance HotDoc search function to enable patients to filter by and select a practitioner based upon their areas of interest.
