In order to setup HotDoc at your practice for online bookings, you must first configure Praktika and HotDoc using the instructions in this article. Doing this ensures:

• We sync practitioner, appointment and available session times from Praktika to HotDoc 
• Patients can search for and book appointments online via the HotDoc website and app
• Appointments integrate into your Praktika Appointment Book

Please follow the steps below to complete this configuration and set up HotDoc at your practice. 

What you'll need to integrate Praktika and HotDoc

In order for Praktika and HotDoc to integrate, we require an API from Praktika to be entered into the HotDoc Dashboard. So that you can do the configuration, you'll need:

1. Your HotDoc user account login details to log into the Dashboard (email and password) 
   
   
2. Your API key from Praktika, so that you can input this in HotDoc Dashboard.
   To do this in Praktika:
   1. Open Praktika
   2. Select the Management drop down
   3. Select Online Bookings 
   4. Under the General tab copy your API Key, you will be required to paste this into your HotDoc Dashboard. 
      

      If you cannot see this, please contact Praktika Support directly at support@praktika.com.au to receive your API key.

      
      
      

Once you have these two things, please follow the steps below to configure your integration. 

How to configure Praktika for HotDoc

Ensure you have your API Key from Prakitka before following the steps below to configure HotDoc:

1. Log into the HotDoc Dashboard with your HotDoc user account email and password, then press Login:
   
   
   
   
2. On the home page, click Get Started under step 1 of the bookings checklist:
   
   
   
   
3. Paste your API key from Praktika into HotDoc, then press Save:
   
   
   
4. Confirm the details and select Yes, Save. We will then start syncing your information from Prakitka to HotDoc such as your appointment types, practitioners and session times:
   
   
   
   
5. Click the Home tab on the left hand side and go through the rest of the checklist to complete your HotDoc setup.
   
   

   Please note: It can take up to 20 minutes from the time you enter your API Key to sync your session times and appointments from Praktika through to HotDoc. This is important to know if trying to make a test appointment.
