Merging Split Practice Management Softwares (Clinical & Admin) FAQs

  • Is the admin database is merging into the clinical database? If Yes:
  • Is the clinical database is merging into the admin database? If Yes:
  • Are both databases merging into a new Practice Management Software? (e.g. a new instance of Best Practice) If Yes:

 

Is the admin database is merging into the clinical database? If Yes:

  • The practice can use their existing clinical HotDoc Dashboard. 
  • If the clinic doesn’t currently have a HotDoc Dashboard, then a new HotDoc Dashboard is required and the team will need to install HotDoc.
  • The HotDoc team will activate all HotDoc products the clinic had access to on their clinical HotDoc Dashboard. The practice will need to set up these products again.

 

Is the clinical database is merging into the admin database? If Yes:

  • The practice can use their existing admin HotDoc Dashboard. 
  • If the clinic doesn’t currently have a HotDoc Dashboard, then a new HotDoc Dashboard is required and the team will need to install HotDoc.
  • The HotDoc team will activate all HotDoc products the practice had access to on their admin HotDoc Dashboard. The practice will need to set up these products again.

 

Are both databases merging into a new Practice Management Software? (e.g. a new instance of Best Practice) If Yes:

  • A new HotDoc Dashboard will be required.
  • All HotDoc products will be temporarily disabled before.
  • All HotDoc products the clinic previously had access to will need to be set up again in the new HotDoc Dashboard.
  • The team will need to install HotDoc and connect to your new Database.
  • A new service agreement may be required, depending on the new software.

 

Please Note: If you are submitting the Practice Software or Database Change Notification form after hours on a Friday, weekend or on a public holiday, response times will be delayed until the next business working day.
