This article explains how to see the outcome of a patient's appointment reminder in the Reminders > History section of your HotDoc Dashboard. Here you can see the patients details, the type of reminder that was sent, and the status of the reminder (queued, sent, viewed, confirmed or cancelled).

How to check sent reminders in the Reminder History
Appointment reminder details can be viewed in the Reminders 'History' tab in the HotDoc Dashboard. Here you can view:
- List of appointment reminders that have been sent to a patient
- Appointment details: Patient's name, appointment time, practitioner and appointment type
- Type of Reminder that was sent (push notification, email and/or SMS and the attempts
- Current status of the Reminder (whether the patient has received, viewed, confirmed or cancelled their upcoming appointment)
- Patients Replies to an SMS reminder

Log in to your HotDoc Dashboard and navigate into the left hand menu to Reminders > History. Here you will have an overview of your reminders activity and all sent reminders including regular, immediate, early or custom.

The list is sorted to show a live history with the most recently sent at the top (time stamp in the Status column). You can also use the filters to find specific reminders sent to patients.

The status column will indicate whether a reminder has been sent, viewed, confirmed, or cancelled:

A green dot will indicate that the patient has confirmed their appointment via their Reminder.

A yellow dot will indicate that the appointment has been Sent but yet to be confirmed:
- An orange dot will indicate that the appointment has been Viewed, but yet to be confirmed:

A red dot will indicate that the appointment has been Cancelled via their Reminder:

A green dot will indicate that the patient has confirmed their appointment via their Reminder.

Selecting the View button will show you the patients details such as:
- Mobile number or email that we sent the reminder to (these are from the details in the patients file in your practice software, not their HotDoc account)
- The status of the reminder activity
- The attempts we made to send a reminder (eg. if we sent a reminder via email and SMS 2hrs later).

If the patient receives and replies to an SMS Reminder, we will display the message sent and their response under the ‘Patient responded’ tag.
How to check what appointment reminders did not send
You can see a list of reminders that did not send in the Unsent Reminders section of your Dashboard. In there, you can check why each of those reminders couldn't be sent, as explained here: Why did the patients appointment reminder not send?
What do appointment reminders look like in my appointment book?
Sent requests and confirmations can also be viewed directly within your appointment book. However, it may display different depending on your practice management software.
The following indicates how the different variations will generally display in your appointment book:

Patient opens the appointment reminder = no change to the appointment

Patient cancels = the appointment is removed from the book
- Patient confirms = a [C] is placed next to appointment in the book
