Question
When one of our clinic’s patients books an appointment using HotDoc’s Telehealth On Demand service, they can choose to share their consultation notes with their regular GP. When shared, these notes are delivered to our clinic so they can be added to the patient’s file in our clinical software.
How can I opt in or out of receiving these patient notes?
Solution
Patient notes from Telehealth On Demand appointments contain important clinical details that support continuity of care. They may include updates on symptoms, new concerns, or medication changes made during the consultation. Disabling these notes means your practice won’t automatically receive this information, which could affect how you manage follow-up care.
| The patient can also choose for the consultation notes to be sent to them directly. These settings will not prevent the patient from receiving a copy of their notes. |
Patient notes can be enabled both on a clinic level and an individual practitioner level. To update your settings, follow the steps below.
- In the Dashboard, go to Telehealth On Demand > Patient Notes > Settings
- Choose Yes or No to set your Patient Notes preference.
- If you've selected Yes above, you will also have the option to select which practitioners should receive Patient Notes.
- Select Save at the bottom of the page.
- You can update these settings at any time via this section in the Dashboard.
