  • Part 1 - Create the USB installer
  • Part 2 - Manually update the Chromebook Kiosk

What you will need

To be able to perform the manual update you will need a few items;

  • A USB Keyboard
  • A paperclip, pin or small screwdriver
  • A USB stick capable of holding at least 8GB

- USB needs to be blank

- Avoid using the USB brand, Sandisk

- Google Chrome internet browser needs to be used to download the extension in your Chrome browser

ⓘ Important Notes

Part 1 - Create the USB installer

Follow the instructions on this Google support page, please see the below note when you reach Step 3:

Recover your Chromebook - Recovery option 2: Use USB drive

 In "Step 3: Build the USB installer", under "Identify your Chromebook", we suggest typing "SUMO " (with a space at the end). This will ensure the correct device is found.
