This guide will take you through how to set up a Practitioner with a Practitioner Sidebar account, so that they can directly manage and action their repeat prescription and referral requests. We will also show you how to install the Sidebar on their computer for a more complete experience. Please see the steps below for how to do this.

Create and send an invite to Practitioner's
Note: Practices on a shared database If you have practitioner's that work across multiple practices on a shared database, we advise only setting the practitioner up for one site first. Coming soon: We're currently working on a feature to allow GPs to use one account to access requests across multiple sites. |

Important: The practitioner's HotDoc profile must be linked to an active profile in practice software to offer repeat prescription or referral requests online. They do not need to be 'Visible for online bookings'.
Practitioner account status are as follows:

- Active = Practitioner has set up a password and is ready to use their account
- Pending = Practitioner has been sent an invite that has not been actioned
- Blank = Practitioner has not been sent an invite (head back to step 1 to invite them)
Practitioner Emails
Your practitioners will start to receive emails for pending requests from patients when:
- You have sent them an invite to use Quick Consults and they’re enabled for prescription or referral requests (regardless of whether they have set a password)
- Your practice is live with Quick Consults
They will receive the following emails:
- An email is sent each time a patient has submitted a request, titled "Action required - You have a new patient request"

- A daily summary email titled "Action required - review your outstanding patient requests", sent between 8am-10am each morning.

If they haven't finished setting up their account any displayed button will take them to the create a password page, which they will need to do before viewing and actioning any requests.
If your practice is using the Web Sidebar, your practitioners will see this email where the button will take the to complete setup.
There is a link underneath the button to log into the HotDoc Web Sidebar.
If your practice is only using the Installed Sidebar, your practitioners will see this email, prompting them to complete setup. Create a Password page. The HotDoc Web Sidebar.
Any Quick Consults emails practitioners receive will include the following footer with a direct link to manage their email notifications.

Actioning requests in HotDoc Sidebar & Installing the Sidebar

Your practitioners will be able to access their requests immediately from the HotDoc Web Sidebar once they finish setting up their account, however installing the Sidebar on the desktop is recommended so the practitioner has full access to all features such as:
- Opening the patient file
- Pin requests on their screen to easily action requests at the same time

Receiving notifications on their computer
