How do I set up Telehealth appointments in HotDoc?
If you have Online Bookings, you can easily add Telehealth appointments from your HotDoc Dashboard > Bookings > COVID-19 Mode
You’ll need to create a 'Telehealth Appointment Type' in your clinical software, so if you need help with this, see How to add, edit or remove appointment types. It is recommended to have the telehealth appointment type in your clinical software linked to the HotDoc Telehealth Appointment Type. This will ensure your appointment book clearly shows the label ‘Telehealth’ on the appointment.
It is also important to have Patient Screening enabled to ensure a patient going through the online booking process can be effectively screened and the most appropriate appointment type is made.

How do I set up Telehealth appointments in my clinical software?

Once you have set up the Telehealth appointment type in your clinical software, we recommend you link it to your HotDoc Telehealth Appointment Type. This means any HotDoc booked appointments will be clearly labelled as ‘Telehealth’ in your appointment book.

Who will be eligible for the Medicare Telehealth rebate?
On March 30, 2020, the Medicare rebate will be expanded to all patients but there are other factors which may change how you bill as events arise.

Can I customise the COVID-19 screening questions?
The series of triage questions included in HotDoc’s COVID-19 Screening questions have been specifically chosen in consultation with clinic requirements and feedback and at this time, cannot be modified in your HotDoc Dashboard.
While the questions cannot be customised, we may update them in line with any changes in requirements as the situation develops.
Can we turn Telehealth on for all GPs at our clinic?
We have released an update to ensure you can select and update all practitioners you want to make available for Telehealth Appointments in one step in your HotDoc Dashboard > Practitioner Setup

What are the screening questions patients see in the booking flow?
When both Telehealth Screening and Patient Screening have been enabled, the patient will be shown some questions to determine if they are eligible for a telehealth appointment. To see the flow, please read What will the Patient See?

What Telehealth solutions does HotDoc offer?
HotDoc will offer Telephone only, Video and Payments. Telephone only is currently available and Video and Payments will be released early April.
Do I need to install software to support Video or Telehealth?
No. HotDoc Telehealth and Video is fully supported through HotDoc’s platform. The only requirements to enable video are an updated internet browser, camera and computer audio/mic on the doctor’s computer.
