What are the fields HotDoc can automatically update in the patient file when we process forms in the Sidebar?
Solution
When patients fill in and submit a form, HotDoc can transfer some fields from that form into the patient's records automatically.
This is the list of fields that can be automatically updated:

*Title - Mr, Ms, Mrs and Miss will automatically update. Other titles will need to be added manually to the patient file.
*Ethnicity/ATSI - This refers to different fields depending on which software your practice uses.
- Best Practice = Ethnicity field
- Pracsoft = ATSI field
- Zedmed = ATSI field
These fields will only be updated if the patient has answered Yes to the initial question 'Do you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?'. The update will be based on the patient's answer to the next question, 'Please select what you identify as' and will either be changed to 'Aboriginal', 'Torres Strait Islander' or 'Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander'. If the patient answers No to the initial question, no update will be made.

Any other fields that are not included in the above list will need to be manually updated when processing the form in the Sidebar. Please note we will also save the form's PDF into the patient file, as explained here.
