How can a patient opt out of Broadcast SMS?

Last updated 23 February 2020 21:45

When sending SMS messages to your patients via HotDoc Broadcast, you may wish to give them the option to opt out of the communication they've received. To do this, you can include a message at the end of your broadcast to assist with opting the patient out of receiving marketing messages via HotDoc.

How to add an opt out message

  1. When you’re creating your Broadcast message, click on “Insert Placeholder” and choose “Opt out message”. This will insert the text “Reply STOP to opt out” into your message.

  2. When a patient replies to your message with the word “Stop” it will tell our system to opt them out of all future marketing messages from HotDoc.

To opt a patient out proactively before sending the SMS Broadcast, please see How to manage patient consent with the Dashboard
